ENGEMASA was born from the modernization ideals of the 1970s, when University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP) and the Federal University of S\u00e3o Carlos (UFSCar) engineers got together in 1976 to found a stainless steel casting and special alloys company with the objective of replacing importations.<\/p>\n

From the beginning of its operation in 1978, ENGEMASA has overcome the challenges imposed on it, nationalizing parts hitherto imported with equal or better performance than the competition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t \n\t\t

\n\t\t\t \n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t80s: <\/span>\n\t\t\tCHALLENGES BEING OVERCOME<\/span>\n\t\t<\/span>\n\t

The challenges posed in the 1980s, mainly by PETROBRAS, led ENGEMASA to enter the market of forged bars in special alloys and stainless steel needles used to reinforce refractory concrete.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t \n\t\t

\n\t\t\t \n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t90s: <\/span>\n\t\t\tCOMPLYING WITH THE DEMANDING PETROCHEMICAL MARKET<\/span>\n\t\t<\/span>\n\t

In the 1990s, through a close relationship [parternship] with top national universities and research laboratories, ENGEMASA entered the Petrochemical market, supplying static castings in high nickel and chrome alloys for high temperature jobs. In response to requests from PQU (Petroqu\u00edmica Uni\u00e3o), it develops technology for the manufacturing of Centrifuged Tubes and begins the assembly of petrochemical columns according to the most rigorous metallurgical controls of micro alloys additions, guaranteeing their performance for high temperature jobs.<\/p>\n

There were many achievements:<\/strong> Machining (1990), Division, Petrochemical & Centrifugal Foundry (1992), ISO 9001, etc.<\/p>\n

PETROBRAS and the national petrochemical industries now have a genuinely national supplier capable of meeting the growing challenges of this important Sector of the Domestic Economy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t \n\t\t
